TR Fastenings, a global fastening specialist, has played a crucial role in assisting The London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) in their transition to electric taxis. LEVC, a part of the Geely Group, approached TR Fastenings with a time-critical problem during their challenging transformation process. LEVC needed a reliable supplier of automotive components to improve and secure their supply chain, focusing on technical and engineering support, as well as a robust logistical service.
TR Fastenings was selected as the preferred supplier due to their extensive experience in designing and manufacturing fasteners for automotive applications. TR also supplies other companies within the Geely Group, including Proton in Malaysia, Lotus Cars in the UK, and major Tier 1 suppliers.
TR’s design and engineering teams worked closely with LEVC to understand their exact needs and develop a comprehensive and stable service provision. TR now provides around 350 components used in LEVC vehicles, as well as supplying Tier 1 suppliers of drivetrains, brakes, lighting groups, car seats, IP consoles, and battery packs.
The collaboration between TR Fastenings and LEVC prevented any disruptions in manufacturing and allowed for a long-lasting relationship. TR’s comprehensive and full-service approach ensured a smooth transition and enabled LEVC to continue production without delays or line stops. TR looks forward to providing ongoing support for future vehicle developments.
