Ola Electric to Showcase Electric Superbike Concept Diamondhead at MotoGP India

Ola Electric, the Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, will be exhibiting its electric superbike concept, Diamondhead, at the upcoming MotoGP event in India. Diamondhead is one of the four conceptual electric motorcycles that Ola Electric showcased at their event on August 15, 2023.

Featuring a futuristic and minimalist design, Diamondhead resembles something seen in science fiction movies. The front section boasts a large diamond-shaped panel that houses a strip of lights, with the actual headlight positioned below. Overall, its design gives it the appearance of a semi-faired motorcycle. The bike is equipped with disc brakes on both ends and has a covered rear wheel for increased aerodynamic efficiency. The front suspension is also positioned at an unconventional angle, nearly parallel to the ground.

While details about the powertrain are limited, the Diamondhead is expected to surpass the Ultraviolette F77, which currently holds the title of the most sporty electric motorcycle available in the Indian market. With more power, it is likely that the Diamondhead will have a higher price and become Ola Electric’s flagship product.

The Diamondhead is likely to be showcased alongside Ola Electric’s other conceptual models, such as the Cruiser, Adventure, and Roadster, at the GP of India. Pre-bookings for these motorcycles have already begun, with a planned launch in late 2024.

MotoGP will make its debut in India and take place at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) from September 22 to 24, 2023. Preparations for the event are underway, with the arrival of the safety car and motorcycle at the track.

Overall, Ola Electric’s presence in MotoGP demonstrates the company’s commitment to promoting electric motorcycles in India and solidifies its position as a key player in the electric vehicle market.
