Mahindra has been actively conducting tests on the all-electric version of its popular SUV, the XUV700, in India. The upcoming electric variant, known as the XUV.e8, is expected to make its debut by the end of 2024. Spy photographs of the test vehicle have emerged, revealing interesting details about the vehicle’s design.

The front of the XUV.e8 showcases a striking LED light bar that spans the width of the vehicle, reminiscent of the Tata Harrier and Safari redesigns. The test vehicle also features vertically stacked split LED headlights with a capsule-like design. At the rear, the XUV.e8 retains the arrow-shaped taillights, rear wiper, shark-fin antenna, and high-mounted brake light from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart.

Inside the XUV.e8, spy photos reveal a three-screen setup, consisting of a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment screen, and an additional screen for the co-passenger. The central console layout is expected to be similar to that of the XUV400, complete with a drive mode selector lever.

In terms of specifications, the XUV.e8 is anticipated to have a length of 4,740 mm and a wheelbase of 2,762 mm. It is rumored to come equipped with an 80 kWh battery pack and a four-wheel drive configuration.

With the launch of the XUV.e8, Mahindra will enter the electric vehicle market and kickstart its lineup of electric models planned for the future. In the Indian market, it will face competition from the upcoming Harrier EV.
