The Town of Brookline, Massachusetts, is proud to announce the opening of its seven new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. In a ribbon-cutting ceremony organized by the Department of Public Works (DPW), the town invites the public, especially EV owners, to attend the event.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place in the Kent/Webster Place parking lot in Brookline Village, near the intersection of Harvard Street and Webster Place. The ceremony is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the official ribbon-cutting set for 3:15 p.m.
Town Administrator Chas Cary and DPW Commissioner Erin Chute will be present and deliver speeches during the ceremony. This project marks the town’s first major endeavor in EV charging and has been achieved through a collaboration with the EV charging solutions company, Greenspot, and Eversource.
These new charging stations are a significant contribution to Brookline’s climate goals. The town recognizes the importance of accessible EV charging infrastructure in promoting sustainable transportation options, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting the transition to electric vehicles.
By investing in these charging stations, Brookline demonstrates its commitment to building a greener and more environmentally friendly community. The ribbon-cutting ceremony serves as an opportunity for the town and its residents to celebrate this achievement and further encourage the adoption of electric vehicles.
The Town of Brookline invites everyone, whether EV owners or not, to attend the ceremony and witness the progress made towards a more sustainable future.
