Audi has unveiled a special edition of its high-performance electric sedan, the RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its Audi Sport division. The vehicle pays homage to the GP Ice Race, an annual motorsport festival held on the frozen Zell Lake in Austria. Its exterior design features silver and white colors symbolizing snow, while purple accents represent ski goggles. Additionally, the car showcases black 21-inch wheels and a reinforced carbon fiber roof.
Although the interior has not been revealed yet, Audi has stated that the color combination creates the illusion of four seats, but there are actually five. The cabin incorporates silver, black, and purple tones, with purple used for accent details such as contrast stitching. The steering wheel features a combination of leather and Alcantara, with a silver design element at the 12 o’clock position. The infotainment system highlights customized graphics, including a unique serial number.
Under the hood, the RS E-Tron GT Ice Race Edition retains the same specifications as the standard RS E-Tron GT. It is equipped with a dual motor powertrain that generates up to 637 hp, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Audi plans to produce only 99 units of this limited edition model, exclusively for the European market.
Established in 1983 as Audi Quattro, the Audi Sport division has evolved to undertake various projects, ranging from customer racing to customization through Audi Exclusive. In 2016, the division changed its name to Audi Sport to avoid confusion with the Audi Quattro brand used for all-wheel drive systems in new markets.
